Love Live! Sunshine!! Figures School Uniform Ver.

Once in a while, I think I'll post things about anime merchandise on this blog and on this blog only. Yes, I'm not posting this to my usual Line posts, think of it as a blog exclusive content which probably only a minority of my readers (if I even have any) care about. Feel free to ignore this if you're not interested.

Have I made my love for Love Live clear? If not, I'm a big fan of it. Really. I really like Love Live! Sunshine!! a lot too and I will definitely make a (not so) random anime about it, so well, look forward to it. It'll be a hellishly long post, that one, I'm sure. Also I'm redoing my random anime of Love Live! School Idol Project since I'm not too happy of the version I posted to Line, another blog exclusive content! Anyway, I'm quite happy when I see Aqours getting their own figure (not like they won't have any) so I immediately pre-ordered Takami Chika's figure. Yep, Chika is my favorite character, surprised? You might be, considering the popular ones are You, Ruby, and Yoshiko Yohane.
Chika-chan!!!

Random Question 3

Yay another one! What? This is starting to get annoying? Sorry, but just don't read it if you don't want to since i'm not stopping. And again i gathered interesting questions i find or made and answer them all. This time more of it is the one i find rather than the one i made.
Side note: This is actually the 4th one but since I'm not too happy about the third random question, let's think that it doesn't exist

1. What theme do you want to see animated properly in anime?
A lot actually but if i have to choose one, i'd pick historical. More often than not, historical genre anime tends to have some fantasy mixed into it and for me, it takes away the feel of historical and more of a plot device. I really dislike that. Why can't we have a simple historical anime that has no fantasy things in it? Some people might argue it will be boring but i beg to differ. History is quite interesting if it's not in a history textbook, i assure you.
Not really historical but it still is to some extent

2. What character should be a she rather than a he?
Every single freaking trap ever created in anime history. Like seriously, if you want to make him cute and girlish and even look and act like a girl, make him a girl for God sake.
Seriously, why?

3. If you have a child, will you name him/her after an anime character? If yes, what?
I won't. The cringe will be so bad if i were to name my child after an anime character. Just imagine naming your kid as naruto or luffy. Yeah, you get the point.
My reaction would be the reaction of those who met Excalibur

4. If you have a death note, would you use it?
Hell yes! Why wouldn't i not want to try killing people just by writing their name? Heck, i can even control how they die to a certain degree. It'll be fun
Fufufufu

5. Can you name 10 anime characters that have the same first letter in all their names?
Yuuma, Yuuta, Yuri, Yui, Yuuki, Yuki, Yuu, Yusei, Yugi, Yun
Easy! I even do the same first two letters for extra challenge
Yeah, Yuuki

6. If a giant pikachu was foaming at the mouth and had blood stained paw thingys, what would you do?
Throw a pokeball at it and catch it. What else? I'd love to have a drunk giant pikachu that most likely has killed someone to be my slave. I would probably never use him but eh, why not.
I couldn't find the picture for it so this'll do

7. Have you ever watched an entire anime in one sitting?
The better question is how many times did that happen. A lot.
One of the said series

8. Name one anime that you think everyone should watch. And why?
Mars of Destruction. Hands down. Why? To make them realize that something so bad and poorly animated could exist. And to help them decide what is the worst anime they've ever seen in their life. Also to waste 20 minutes of their life to watch that piece of shit. I wasted 40 minutes so go ahead, 20 minutes isn't much.
Go to MAL and read the reviews after you watch it

9. Have you ever watched an anime with over 23 episodes?

Well... Gundam has like 50. Per series. Universal century alone has like over 300 i'm sure. Shakugan no Shana has 75. SEED has 100. 00 has 50. Yugioh GX hundreds. Digimon adventures 50. Yeah, a lot.
It's not Gundam main series if it doesn't have 50 episodes they say

What I Will Watch: Fall 2016

- Definitely Will Watch:
The series under this is what I will, without a doubt, watch the full length of it. The one here is most likely the next season of what has aired or a series based of something I've already followed.

1. Hibike! Euphonium 2
I watched the first season and it was okay but enjoyable to say the least. So why not watch the second season
Thanks to this series, I now know the existence of euphonium

2. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans S2
I've been waiting for this ever since the first season ended. As they say, it's not gundam unless it gets 50ish episodes, so here's the second half of that 50!
Did I ever mention that I'm a huge fan of Gundam? I did? Obviously

Game That You May Have Not Tried #1

I've made a random anime which is to some extent like a recommendation so why not do the same for games? This title is definitely not original. Hell, i copy it from extra credit, credits to them for doing these. Like theirs, the games i'll mention might not be good but they're interesting in their own way. I'll stick to the games that i have played too rather than writing someone else's recommendations. Another disclaimer, i tend not to care about graphics, so some of what i'm about to mention has mediocre graphics, but i assure you, the gameplay or story is fantastic for those bad graphic games.

1. Risk of Rain
I've played this a lot and it's really fun especially when you break the game. Alright, warning first, the graphic is that of an 8 bit games and there are hardly any story at all but the gameplay is really fun especially if you play it with a friend. The gameplay is your usual 2D platformer hack and slash (and shoot) with various jobs to pick. Some are melee and others ranged. Each and every one of them has special skills and different way to play. Seriously just gather a friend or two to play this game, it's a lot of fun i assure you. Especially if you play on glass and when you got hit twice, you're dead.
Probably the weakest boss in-game

Random Question 2

Another random questions from me to me. Why do i do this? Because i'm bored and it's surprisingly fun to answer random questions that popped in my head. Another reminder, this was made not long after the fist one, so around June or July, I can't remember

1. Do you like romance story? If so what kind of romance story?
Yes, i do in fact like romance quite a bit surprisingly enough. Despite my tendency to like story with a dark and twisted story alongside horror psychological stuffs, the romance story i prefer isn't a heart wrenching one or anything close to it. I actually like a heart warming and sweet romance. It doesn't have to have an awesome story plot, just give me a sweet and cute relationship and i'll be perfectly content.
I feel in love with the design almost immediately.
Title is Itoshi no Karin. Thank me later, go and read it. It'll cheer you up

2. Is there any type of story you don't like?
Yes! The obligatory ecchi romance harem school life adapted from a light novel in every freaking season. It has the perfectly same template and after one or two of those said series, i got bored and sick of it. I still wonder why people like it so much. Infinite Stratos, Rakudai, Asterisk, HxH, etc etc, i'm looking at you.
I know how the first episode will go without even watching it

Random Questions

Just some random questions that might or might not be related to anime. Why am I doing this? For fun. Also this was made in mid 2016, around June or so.

1. Anime that disappoints you half-way through the story
Guilty Crown. Definitely Guilty Crown. I actually really like the first half of Guilty Crown. Up to episode 12. After that everything go bad slowly but surely until finally it turn into a total trainwreck. I really wish it ended at episode 12.

2. Anime that you thought you wouldn't like
There's a lot of it actually. The most recent one is Haifuri. It's a moe-ish type story with warships. I'm not really a big fan of moe to be honest but this one really stuck to me. It's surprisingly good. I'll make a (not so) random anime about that soon. But the one I never thought I would like it so much is love live. I never like idols to begin with so i was quite surprised that i actually like love live. I watched idolmaster and that was okay. I watch idolmaster cinderella girls and I hated it. But love live, it got a certain charm that I can't really express that got me into it. And I don't regret it one bit. Also hype for sunshine.
Best captain ever. not really
Ima ga Saikou!
That kotobomb though

Random Anime: Saki

Title: Saki
Episode Count: 25 (Season 1), 13 (Season 2), 16 (side story)

Seasonal Anime: Winter 2015/2016

The anime I list here is what I watch in this season, which is Winter 2015/2016. This is all from my personal opinion and if it differs from yours, don't rage. Also some anime in this list might be leftovers from the previous season but it ended in this one, it'll still enter the list.
Anyway, this will only be a simple list, score, and I'll talk a bit about it. I'll talk more in depth in a separate post. Hopefully.

- What I watched:

1. Boku Dake ga Inai Machi
Score: 9/10

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi surely is the surprise hit in this season although it did leave a lot of people disappointed in it in the end. For me, this series starts off great and it executed Hinazuki Kayo's arc in a brilliant way. The reveal of the killer is also done great although the killer himself is well, quite obvious, but that doesn't matter much, the execution is just beautiful. My problem with this series that cause my score for it drop from 10 to 9 are: Airi needs more screen time, the last 2 episodes feels somewhat too fast for me (but that's most likely my personal taste in pacing), the cringe moment with the teacher, a huge ship sinks almost instantly with a single lethal strike, and his revival ability doesn't get explained at all (this doesn't really bother me too much actually). Anyway, despite its flaws, this series is still a very good series and I recommend it to anyone seeking for a good series.

I ship them so hard

2. Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
Score: 8/10

At first i planned to give it 7 or 7.5 but that Death Spot scenes are epic so i raise the score up (it should be higher if Death Spot doesn't lose the way it does, but oh well, it's still a good scene). Grimgar is unlike most "stuck in fantasy world" setting since rather than taking the adventure or comedy route, it's taking the slice of life and realistic route. Or maybe rather than slice of life, it's more of a slicing life, goblin's life to be exact. Jokes aside, if you seeks a shounen type battles or adventure, yeah, grimgar isn't the place. Grimgar focuses more on their character interaction and in my opinion, they did it greatly. Speaking of characters, thank god Ranta got some character development since he needs one before the series ends. Also, do i need to mention why i think Yume is the best girl of the series? I don't think i have to, it's obvious. The other thing this series does differently is the art, i simply love the water color background, it's so stunningl beautiful. One complain i have for this is... what's with the insert song, like seriously, some of it feel really out of place. For example and probably the worse case is they put a beatbox music over a bath scene, like what are you thinking?

I'm a huge fan of that beautiful background. Why wouldn't I?

3. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
Score: 9.5/10

Barbatos in all of its forms. Well, it's true form and all of his wrecked ones.

Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans or IBO for shorts actually aired in the last season but because it's a two cour series, it lasted until this season. And truthfully, IBO is my favourit series for last season and this season. Yes, i'm a big gundam fan but it became my favourite is for its great story, characters, pacing, etc. I can go on and on praising this series for what it did. I don't have any complains for this since they announced the season two for it (25 episodes are only a half gundam series). The characters are also interesting, Mika especially, he's ruthless, probably one of the most ruthless main character that is not evil i've seen so far. Sunrise also being an expert when it comes to mecha genre and also someone who did Gundam since 1979, they know how to make good quality mecha fights. All in all, watch this whether you like mecha or not. Don't let your biased opinions on some genre stopping you from trying new genre, who knows, you might like it.

I really love Barbatos' design. I really do.

4. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
Score:
7.5/10

From left to Right:
Masochist Crusader Darkness, Simply Kazuma, Useless Goddess Aqua, Explosion Megumin

Konosuba is a series that is clearly a comedy series and nothing else. If grimgar took the go to fantasy world setting to a serious and realistic view, Konosuba took the other route, the comedy one. Our main protagonist died in a shameful and lame death. In the afterlife, he met an annoying and prideful goddess name Aqua. Basically she talked him to choose reincarnating in a fantasy world with one thing or one talent that he choose. Rather than choosing any overpowered abilities or some game breaking item, he choose the ever so useless Goddess herself. And thus his dreamed life in the fantasy begun or so he thought. Aqua is useless, not entirely useless but is still useless. He got thr lowest class possible. He got party members that are useless in their own way. Megumin, the archmage, can cast a highly destructive spell ONCE per day and afterwards she can't even move her body. Darkness, the Crusader, is a masochistic girl who has probably zero accuracy, yeah, she can't even hit anything and due to her masochistic nature, she won't evade any attacks coming towards her at all. Despite its good comedy, the series has a lot of issues. Clearly the studio that made this doesn't expect it to do well at all. The animation quality is quirky and at times bad, it only has 10 episodes, and they choose some random unknown seiyuu to voice the main cast (which is doing quite well fortunately).

Megumin!

5. Dimension W
Score:
8/10

Dimension W is a series that flew under the radar of many. I almost drop it too since the first few episodes feel a bit like filler episodes but it got really good afterwards. The main concept is also interesting. Humanity found a dimension other than the xyz dimension that we know, dimension W. This dimension w provides an infinite amount of energy and special machine called coils are used to draw energy from it. The story itself is quite interesting especially Kyouma's past, the Beast of Grendels, man, i wish they tell about them more. Also Mira... damn she's cute, one of the cutest robot i've seen so far. Or the cutest piece of junk if we call her as Kyouma call her.

Mira is too cute for this world

6. Gate: Jietai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
Score:
8.5/10

Gate is one of those anime that i wait eagerly each week to watch the next episode. At first i thought it would be a fun series from the way JSDF massacred the imperial army. Yeah, no knights on horse can defeat a soldier with assault rifles, let alone tanks. But to my surprise the series takes the diplomatic route and tries to go a peaceful way, which leads to some interesting diplomatic problems. But seriously, even though i enjoy watching the diplomacy, the tactics and all of that, nothing beats watching knights getting absolutely wrecked from gunfire. Somehow after witnessing what the JSDF can do, a certain stupid prince still decided to wage war on them and attack their embassy, yeah, stupid decision is stupid. Anyway, this series is one of those anime that i will enjoy no matter how much i rewatch it and i'll be surely to rewatch it someday.

You're so dead

- What I dropped

1. Musaigen no Phantom World
Score:
6/10
Why did I drop this? Because it's mediocre. There's a lot of things that i rather watch than this. So yeah, maybe if it get good somehow, i'll pick it up again, but it it highly unlikely. The art is good though, as expected from KyoAni.

2. Saijyaku Muhai no Bahamut
Score:
5/10
I never even intended to watch this. But i did watch the first episode just to count how many cliche of a magic/sci-fi, school, harem series i could find. And oh my, there's a lot, a lot of it. The main protagonist sees the main heroine naked, he falls to her breast, the main heroine is a tsundere, there's a childhood friend, a cute imouto character, and so on. Also the exoskeleton designs are borderline copyright infringement from infinite stratos.

3. Ajin
Score:
(i won't give any score for this since i barely watched it)
I heard that this series is good but well, that full 3D animation just threw me off from this series. I don't usually have too much problems with graphics (i watched a full 43 episodes of an anime that aired in 1979). Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against 3d animation, i watched expelled from paradise, a full 3d anime and i really liked it. It's just 3d animation just doesn't suit this series at all.

4. Dagashi Kashi
Score:
6/10
If i have to summarize this series in one word: weird. Yeah, this series is weird to the point of someone who likes weird ideas like me dropped it. This series or at least the first episode is weird through and through. I might watch it someday though, i might...

Thoughts on Leena's World Map

I bought this light novel when i was planning on buying only No Game No Life LN, but when i see the title of this one, it almost immediately caught my attention. As you know, i love to read or watch something with a new concept, or a concept that is rarely done in other series, and the title of it says world map, so it'll be a series about map making, is it unique? Yes. Is it rarely done in other series? Yes. Does it interest me? Yes. Am i disappointed in it? No.
The series mainly revolves around Leena, the fifth princess of a kingdom that i forgot the name of. She's well, like maps and are able to make accurate maps with various tools that i have no idea what they are. Don't judge, i have little to no knowledge about map making. Leena alogside her personal maid and an aged knight went to a port town to make a map of that town. Because some trouble arises, she decided to hire a mercenary to protect her.
Does everything go smoothly? Of course not. This is a fictional story, if everything went according to plan without any troubles, who would even bother to read it right? Then again, real life never go without any problems too... yeah, it sucks. Back to the topic, the governor of this city is involved in some shady deals and corruption, and Leena making a map of that city will reveal the false report he has been giving the king, so he attempted to stop her at all cost, which escalated quickly to him wanting to kill her. Yeah, he's desperate alright. A stupid plan too.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the way the story are being told is quite good, i can follow it with no problem at all and enjoy it quite a bit, especially the later half of it. The one who does the translation to Indonesian are Shining Rose Media, a small translation company who actually does their job really well, it exceeds my expectation to say the least. Well, they're doing a good job and i want to support them more. I'll probably buy more light novels from them in the future. But for now, i have NGNL to read first. I'm getting off topic again! Anyway, this LN is really enjoyable and i wish that they translate the next novel too, i want to read more of Leena's adventure. Please do translate the second volume.. please.
Gosh, the struggle to get a picture of this LN is real
