Random Anime: Oda Nobuna no Yabou

Disclaimer: Everything written here is only my opinion and my personal preferences, do not take any kind of offense of what i write here. Also as the name suggests, I use a randomizer to pick what anime i'll write about next.

- Synopsis (Source: MAL):

The historical romantic comedy follows 17-year-old high schooler Sagara Yoshiharu who one day time-travels to the Sengoku period, where all the major Samurai lords are cute girls. Yoshiharu meets Oda Nobuna, the female counterpart of Oda Nobunaga, and begins to serve her as a substitute of Kinoshita Tokichiro, who was killed.

- Personal Thoughts (probably will be biased and has a bad quality, you have been warned):

From the title and the picture, this series is set in the sengoku jidai of Japan, mainly during Oda Nobunaga's conquest, although here it's Oda Nobuna's ambition of Tenka Fubu. Personally story-wise I like Nobunaga's conquest the best. Next up would be Hideyoshi's. The story follows our main character Yoshiharu (later been called Saru since he replaces Hideyoshi) being transported into an alternate feudal Japan where most of the famous generals are girls. Story-wise it follows the sengoku period half-way and diverge heavily afterwards. Saru meets Nobuna and Saru become her sandal bearer like Hideyoshi was in our timeline. Where is the real Hideyoshi? Dead. Oda win against the Imagawa at Okehazama (seriously, this battle is simply outstanding history-wise). Saito Dousan's son rebelled and here is where history starts to change. Dousan didn't die here, rather he's saved by Saru. Some of the major changes in history: the shogun didn't die (this has a lot more impact than you would think), Shingen Takeda didn't die (this too means the collapse of the Takeda by his incompetent son also didn't happen), and so on. Most likely the Honnoji incident will probably not happen too, because Nobuna is our main heroine.

The characters are from the sengoku jidai. Oda Nobuna, Shibata Katsuie, Niwa Nagahide, Goemon (this thief has been changed into a cute loli), Hanbei (he too has been changed into a girl and also a loli), Shigen Takeda, Imagawa Yoshimoto, etc. Yeah, all of the famous generals in the Sengoku period. Like in the sengoku period, they also has a tendency to change their name which makes remembering all of their names confusing.

This series is made by madhouse and as always, animation is simply great. Also because of it's madhouse, chances for a season two is very slim unfortunately. Although as the light novel reader, i have a lot of problems with this series. They adapt it quite poorly if i must say so. And they also rush things way too fast. If you want to get a good story from this, read the LN instead.

Saitou Dousan is quite a cool character I'd say

- Verdict:

Despite its flaws, this series is without a doubt a fun series. Kanae Ito is really good at voicing Nobuna who is one of my favourite character which is a good thing. Well, if you want the story, read the LN because the pacing is quite bad. Other than that, this series has been really fun for me.
